The JOY of Wanderlust

Experiencing the joy of travel as a child cultivated a desire in Annie to live internationally as an adult. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to live in Paris, Italy, California, Seattle, Scottsdale, Nashville, Alabama, and Korea. From dynamic cultures to new, innovative ways of doing things, her travels have had a profound impact on how she views the world, the people in it, and her unique approach to design.

From an early age, Annie was intrigued by the artistry of architecture and interiors and knew she wanted to pursue a career in design. She draws her inspiration from art, music, nature, and adventure. Annie has an innate curiosity and a joie de vivre that fuels her desire to search for beauty and creative expression in everyday life. She is continually inspired by colors, textures, shapes from her travels along with an understanding of human psychology to create thoughtful design solutions.

A BUSINESS background

Annie graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture & Design from Arizona State University and graduated with honors with a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. Her career began in hospitality design for the Ritz Carlton, Hyatt Hotels, and Google, where she learned to manage projects, present concepts, collaborate with colleagues, and leverage the design process to build a visual story for Fortune 100 clients.

As both a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) and certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Annie leverages her expertise to move projects from concept to reality. From developing schematics and coordinating construction documents to designing architectural layouts and curating cohesive textural palettes, Annie delivers inspirational interiors on time and within budget.

Helping people thrive

Annie combines her award-winning design sense with a deep love for people. She has found powerful motivation and encouragement by surrounding herself with family, friends, and business relationships.

Her unique ability to bring wellness into a space through design truly sets her apart as a designer. Annie creates beautiful spaces that are inviting, comfortable, and highly functional. There is nothing more rewarding to her than seeing a client fall in love with their newly-designed space.

After 16 years living throughout the United States and internationally, Annie and her husband decided to return to her Colorado roots to be closer to family and enjoy the sunshine and skiing. In 2016, Annie began building a custom home and set to work designing plans, obtaining permits, and acting as the general contractor to oversee the construction and design.

This experience accelerated her expertise as a designer and forged new relationships in the Colorado market. Currently, Small Batch Studios is focusing on investment projects, including real estate development, new-build, and custom projects from scratch. She is uniquely equipped to lead a project from conception through build and installation.

Annie’s passion for interior design is easily transformed from conceptual ideas and visuals to an amazing finished product.

As the organizer and producer of the Seattle Street of Dreams since 1984, I have worked with a lot of very gifted interior designers, and every once in a while, I spot a rare talent. Annie falls into this category. We all know the gift of great interior design isn’t just the final product, but just as importantly, it includes the process and manner in which things move towards completion. Annie brings incredible joy, efficiency, and value to each and every project she tackles, and I heartily endorse her.

Annie made our house beautiful!

After we got married, my husband and I wanted to blend our two distinct styles and households into one amazing home, but we didn't know how. Annie gave us creative ideas, practical plans, and a wonderfully unified space.

She worked her magic in every room: foyer, office, mudroom, living room, bedroom, and basement. And now that we have lived and worked here through a pandemic, we are more grateful than ever for her talents and gifts.

Hiring Annie to help with my remodel was the best thing I could have done!

Having never done a project of this scope before I had no idea what I was getting into, and Annie kept me on track. She helped with design—giving me enough space to make it my own but applying her expertise when needed. I highly recommend Annie to anyone desiring a professional and creative perspective to their project large or small.

Annie took all the stress out of the project.

We hired Annie to help us with our kitchen remodel project. Annie understood our goal and what it was we were trying to achieve. Things were done when promised, the subs who did the work were all top-notch, and the results obtained were exactly what we were hoping for. We highly recommend Annie for your design, remodel, and building needs.

Annie designed spaces for our living room, master bath, and master bedroom.

She did an amazing job of combining my husband’s and my taste and also including the furniture and elements we already had available. She was very personable yet extremely professional. I highly recommend using her eye when designing your space!
